On the sidelines of the festival, which was set up by the Ministry of Culture in the Kurdistan region government to Sheikh Mahmoud Al-Hafeed we met doctor and former Member of Kurdish Parliament, Mr. Izzedine Al Mustafa Rasul and conducted the following interview with him :
- Dr. Izzedine now in the Kurdistan region of Iraq set many festivals in loyalty of peoples who strugled in the cause of their people and their homeland kurdistan in a way that was not so easy in the earlier stages of the Iraqi Kurdistan's history. Can assess the current situation in the Kurdistan region of Iraq and the rest parts of the Kurdistan?
- The Kurdish case now goes forward in all parts of the divided Kurdistan. The Kurdish case became recognizing internationally and the Proof that the Kurdish language arrived in the United Nations to talk to the heads of State, This recognition as a global language and recognizing universally, as to the for parts of Kurdistan we see that the issue is moving forward in every part in a different manner. In Iraqi Kurdistan turn now to consolidate the two departments and the formation of a single department in the formulation of appropriate infrastructure to serve our people, at this sensitive juncture of the history of the Kurdistan region and Iraq, In so doing, we have achieved considerable achievements at Kurdistan of Iraq, and we are now witnessing a good progress in the fields of reconstruction of the institutions and the government's buildings as well as houses and public buildings. Despite all this, there are some shortcomings that we suffer, and on our turn we focus on it and put our hand on the wound to pass it and lay our ship to safety.
When I was in Parliament in the previous session, I always focus on the weaknesses we suffer in order to be able to address them before they reach the level of disease, that's why I have been accused of this and some of my fellow students from the School of the rioters.
At this stage of Kurdish history in Iraq and do our utmost to preserve and protect the rights that we have so much tragedy and pain has given our dearly people for this route.
As for Kurdistan of Iran the situation is better compared with previous years were consecutive Iranian Governments previously exercised on the Kurdish rights maltreatment policies and campaigns of assassinations on kurdish symbols and militants from the likes of Dr. Abdel-Rahman Kasmlo and his comrades in the capital, Vienna, Austria, Now the situation is relatively better the Kurdish is recognized nationally and practice some of their of national and cultural rights. There are many institutes and departments are teaching Kurdish language in addition to the issuance of the many magazines and newspapers in Kurdish language and also a TV broadcast in Kurdish language. Nevertheless remains many injustices on Kurdish there. Marginalized of Kurdish areas physically and service in addition to the standing ban on Kurdish political parties and not open to the Kurd the area to take senior government positions.
And Kurdistan of Turkey are also reached an advanced stage of the struggle for the realization of the national rights, we have seen some time ago, a popular uprising in the Kurdish cities in Turkey condemns practices perpetrated by the Turkish government against Kurd. The Kurdish parties are provided and continue to provide a lot of sacrifices in order to uphold the rights of the Kurdish people in Turkey, Progress on the path of Kurdish movement in Kurdistan- Turkey seems evident in many of the statements that were quoted Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan need for greater democracy in the kurdish regions and pressures repeated on Turkey and the suspension of the European Union to enter Turkey to the European Union until the Kurdish issue is resolved in Turkey the Kurd granted their legitimate rights.
In western Kurdistan or Kurdistan of Syria there has also been progress in the course of the case and getting the Kurdish rights, a person like Abdalhalim Khaddam, Although over the years in which the Syrian authorities exercised a lot of grievances against kurd. However, he state now that there are rights of kurd in Syria, in addition to the formal recognition of the existence of Kurdish nationality in Syria by Syrian President Bashar Assad, which came against the background of the Kamshlo uprising valiant in the spring of 2004 and has achieved positive results of kurdish cause in Syria in various areas, All this is clear evidence that the Kurdish case are positive steps forward.
