Duhok 1st International Film Festival 2012 Official Poster

Duhok International Film Festival has first been held in cooperation with Berlin Kurdish Film festival in 2011. Meanwhile, the decision to have an annual International Film festival in Duhok was taken by the high committee of the festival. 

The program of 2012 film festival covers two main parts: Kurdish Cinema and World Cinema. 

The Kurdish Cinema part consists of the films from the four parts of Kurdistan in addition to the films done by the Kurdish producers in Diaspora. The films participating in Kurdish Cinema part go through a prize competition process.

The world cinema part of the festival consists of the films done in the last two years participating in the festival by the international filmmakers. The aim is to reveal the values of the international as well as the local cinema.
